Sleep under African skies.
Our wilderness chalets and lapa are rustically clad with local stone in order to blend with the natural surrounds. The interiors are well-appointed and comfortable, allowing for B&B, full board or self-catering in a variety of different dwellings. With B&B and full board comes wholesome delicious home-cooked food, with our breads, canapes and soups proving most popular, and lovingly made, with home-grown or local ingredients, free range eggs, and Glen Harry reared venison, served by our welcoming and cheerful staff whose only pleasure is to ensure your stay at Glen Harry Game Reserve is memorable.
The privately located sleeping chalets are positioned with magnificent uninterrupted views of the Reserve with wild animals roaming in the vicinity – it’s not unusual to step out of your room in the morning and see the footsteps of a herd of giant Eland as they have passed like ghosts in the night. The Egyptian cotton percale bed linen, and sumptuous towels provided, are of the highest quality.
The spacious rooms are equipped with separate inside and outside seating, ample wardrobe space, fridge, tea making facilities and a range of drinks supplied on an honesty bar system. Chalets have both heating and air conditioning. Free unlimited internet access for your own laptop, or use of the guest computer.
En suite bathrooms consist of wash hand basin and large shower with separate toilet. A selection of complimentary shower and hair products are provided.
A short lantern-lit trail from the individual chalets are the communal seating, bar and dining areas where food is served along with roaring log fires and a selection of fine South African wines, spirits, beers and soft drinks on an individual charge basis. A boma allows for star gazing and storytelling and the built-in braai creates an atmosphere for communal gatherings where much cooking advice is shared! Internet, books, music and games are available.
For those with 4x4s who wish to traverse the river crossing themselves to the accommodation, covered carports are conveniently located. All other guests arrive by one of the Reserve’s game viewers.
